Description

Delightful Rice Krispies Easter Egg Treats that are fun to make and perfect for spring celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Candy melts or chocolate for coating
  • Sprinkles or edible decorations

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. As it begins to melt, continuously stir to ensure even heating.
  2. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows to the saucepan. Keep stirring until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Now, add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir well until all the cereal is coated in the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool slightly—just enough so it’s manageable—but still warm to the touch. Grease your hands lightly with butter or non-stick spray. Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into egg shapes, about the size of a large egg.
  5. Melt the candy melts or chocolate according to the package instructions. Dip each Rice Krispie egg into the melted coating, ensuring it’s well covered.
  6. While the coating is still wet, sprinkle your favorite sprinkles or edible decorations over the eggs.
  7. Let the treats set on a sheet of wax paper until the coating hardens completely. Once set, they’re ready to serve!

Notes
