Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt until well mixed.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add in the eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined, then drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks. Once cooled, beat the cream cheese until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to make the frosting, then generously frost each cookie.
