- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
- 1/4 cup sea salt (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the large eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture until well combined.
- Scoop out a tablespoon of dough, flatten it slightly, and place a caramel candy in the center, then wrap the dough around the caramel and roll it into a ball.
- Place the cookie balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies if desired.
- Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For softer cookies, consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.
