- 1 loaf of day-old bread, cut into cubes
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the bread cubes in the baking dish, followed by half of the blueberries.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining bread cubes and blueberries.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until combined. Pour evenly over the bread and blueberries.
- Let the dish sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the mixture.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before serving and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Use day-old bread for best results. Can be made the night before and stored in the fridge.
