- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple slices, drained
- Maraschino cherries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter in a round cake pan and sprinkle brown sugar over it.
- Arrange pineapple slices on the brown sugar layer and place a cherry in the center of each slice.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, milk, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Beat until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the arranged pineapple and cherries. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before inverting it onto a serving plate.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
