Description

A nostalgic treat combining crunchy pecans with a caramel-like filling, coated in powdered sugar and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Stir until smooth and boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and chopped pecans.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then shape it into logs.
  4. Roll the logs in powdered sugar until coated.
  5. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler, then dip the ends of each log into the chocolate to coat.
  6. Place on wax paper to cool and set.
  7. Enjoy your Old-Fashioned Pecan Logs!
