- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your loaf pan.
- Combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Mix the molasses with the buttermilk in a separate bowl.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your greased loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the bread in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
For easier slicing, allow the bread to cool completely before cutting. You can increase molasses to 3 tablespoons for a sweeter flavor.
