Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk (for mashed potatoes)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for mashed potatoes)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for mashed potatoes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined and shape into a loaf.
  3. Place the meatloaf in a greased baking dish and bake for 1 hour until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  4. While the meatloaf is baking, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender (15-20 minutes). Drain and return to pot. Add butter, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper, then mash until smooth and creamy.

Notes

Customize the meatloaf with your favorite herbs, spices, or vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
