Description
Creamy, buttery, and rich mashed potatoes, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds of potatoes
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1/2 cup of milk
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by peeling the potatoes and cutting them into even-sized chunks.
- Place the potato chunks into a pot and cover them with salted water. Bring the water to a boil, then let the potatoes cook until they’re fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Once tender, drain the potatoes carefully and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter and milk to the potatoes. Mash everything together until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
- Season your mashed potatoes with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the mashed potatoes warm, preferably in a large bowl.
Notes
For fluffier mashed potatoes, use starchy potatoes like Russets or Yukon Golds. Warm your milk before adding to keep everything hot. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
