Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • 1/2 cup maple bourbon BBQ sauce
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce and tomato for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bacon by cooking it in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings.
  2. Caramelize the onions by melting butter in the same skillet and adding the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Form the ground beef into burger patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill or pan-fry the burgers to your desired doneness, brushing with the maple bourbon BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of cooking.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  6. Assemble the burger by placing a patty on each bun, topping with bacon, caramelized onions, and any additional garnishes like lettuce and tomato.

Notes

For juicier burgers, use ground beef with a higher fat content (80/20). You can prep the patties ahead of time and store them in the fridge for up to 24 hours before cooking.
