Lemon Chicken Piccata

Description

A delightful dish combining juicy chicken with zesty lemon and capers, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, ensuring they’re well-seasoned for maximum flavor.
  2. Dredge each chicken breast in all-purpose flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet, cooking them until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth and fresh lemon juice, bringing to a simmer. Stir in the capers and remaining butter. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating well with the sauce, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with angel hair pasta, steamed vegetables, or a crisp salad. Consider adding a splash of white wine to the sauce for extra flavor.
