- 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until they become translucent.
- Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and sprinkle in the Italian seasoning. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes until the peppers are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
Serve on crusty rolls, over rice, pasta, or quinoa. For variation, use a mix of sweet and spicy sausage.
