Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until they become translucent.
  2. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced bell peppers and sprinkle in the Italian seasoning. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes until the peppers are tender.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Serve on crusty rolls, over rice, pasta, or quinoa. For variation, use a mix of sweet and spicy sausage.
