Description

A rich and velvety French dessert made from egg yolks, sugar, and white wine, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Fresh fruits or berries for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  2. Add the dry white wine to the egg yolk and sugar mixture.
  3. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water and whisk continuously for about 8-10 minutes until thickened and foamy.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla extract if using. Serve warm or chilled over fresh fruits or berries.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Re-whisk before serving to revive texture.
