Description

A classic dessert featuring layers of fluffy biscuits, sweet strawberries, and silky whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries and sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes to create syrup.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl, then cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Add heavy cream and vanilla, stirring until combined. Lightly knead the dough and cut into rounds.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Cool slightly, slice in half, and serve with strawberries and whipped cream.

Notes

Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Store shortcakes at room temperature for up to 2 days and strawberries in the fridge for 3 days, combining before serving.
