Description

A classic comfort food that combines juicy beef patties with a flavorful gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional for thickening)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a boil, scraping the bottom to get any bits.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. If you want a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir until it thickens.
  7. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like parsley or thyme to the beef mixture. Make sure to brown the patties well for a richer flavor.
