Description

A quick and easy recipe for homemade popcorn that you can customize to your taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add a few popcorn kernels to the pot and cover it. Wait until the kernels pop to test if the oil is hot enough.
  3. Once the test kernels have popped, add the remaining popcorn kernels to the pot. Cover with a lid but leave it slightly ajar to allow steam to escape.
  4. Shake the pot occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  5. When the popping slows down to about 2-3 seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat.
  6. Pour the popcorn into a bowl and season with salt and melted butter if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Experiment with different toppings like cheese powder, caramel, or spices for a personalized twist.
