Description

A fresh and zesty homemade green sauce made with tomatillos and herbs, perfect for elevating any dish.


Ingredients

  • 10 tomatillos, husked and quartered
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 jalapeño, stemmed and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the tomatillos on a baking sheet and roast for 15-20 minutes until slightly charred.
  3. In a blender, combine the roasted tomatillos, onion, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, salt, and lime juice.
  4. Blend until smooth or to your desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Notes

For a milder sauce, adjust the jalapeño. You can also experiment with additional ingredients like avocado or different herbs.
