- 10 tomatillos, husked and quartered
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 jalapeño, stemmed and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Place the tomatillos on a baking sheet and roast for 15-20 minutes until slightly charred.
- In a blender, combine the roasted tomatillos, onion, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, salt, and lime juice.
- Blend until smooth or to your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.
Notes
For a milder sauce, adjust the jalapeño. You can also experiment with additional ingredients like avocado or different herbs.
