- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- Buttercream frosting (for decorating)
- Red food coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix well, then gradually stir in boiling water until combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack.
- Frost the cooled cake with buttercream frosting. Optionally mix in red food coloring and top with sprinkles before serving.
