Description

A wholesome banana bread recipe that uses nutritious ingredients and is naturally sweetened, perfect for breakfast or snacks.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Stir honey (or maple syrup), melted coconut oil (or butter), eggs, and vanilla extract into the mashed bananas.
  4. In another bowl, mix together baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and whole wheat flour.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure bananas are very ripe for best sweetness. For a gluten-free version, substitute whole wheat flour with gluten-free flour.
