Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Whisk together the flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Mix the melted butter, applesauce, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and form them into small balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, giving them a little space in between.
  6. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray and sprinkle with additional cinnamon and sugar if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Perfect for family gatherings, snack time, or as a delightful dessert. Can be made vegan by substituting the butter with coconut oil.
