- 4 chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (such as parsley or cilantro)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring it’s well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the excess.
- Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with rice or warm bread.
Notes
For an even more authentic flavor, consider adding saffron to your marinade. Marinating overnight will enhance the flavor.
