Ingredients

  • 2 Red onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup White vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Peppercorns
  • 2 Bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Slice red onions thinly and place them in a jar.
  2. Combine equal parts vinegar and water in a saucepan. Add sugar and salt; heat until dissolved.
  3. Pour the vinegar mixture over the onions in the jar.
  4. Add peppercorns and bay leaves. Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Store leftovers in an airtight jar for up to two weeks, ensuring they are submerged in the pickling liquid.
