Description

An irresistible treat that combines pizza and garlic knots into one fun and decadent dish, featuring a gooey mozzarella center bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Divide the risen dough into 8 equal pieces. Flatten each piece and place mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the dough around the cheese and shape it into a knot.
  5. Mix minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Brush the knots with the egg wash and sprinkle the garlic mixture on top.
  6. Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

Notes

Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley or a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
