Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Divide the risen dough into 8 equal pieces. Flatten each piece and place mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the dough around the cheese and shape it into a knot.

- Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
