Description

These Ghost Meringue Cookies bring a delightful twist to your Halloween festivities with their crisp texture and sweet, airy flavor.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Black food coloring (optional)
  • Chocolate chips (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whip the egg whites and cream of tartar together until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy. Stir in vanilla extract and black food coloring if desired.
  4. Use a piping bag to pipe ghost shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for about 1.5 hours or until dry, then cool completely on a wire rack. Press chocolate chips into the meringues as eyes.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. To maintain crispness, keep away from humidity.
