Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Royal icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and large eggs to the sugar mixture until well combined.
  5. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Roll the dough into small football shapes and place on a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
  10. Decorate with royal icing to resemble a football.
