Description

A perfect appetizer that combines fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic served on crispy toasted bread topped with balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

  • French baguette or Italian bread
  • Fresh tomatoes, diced
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices and lay flat on a baking sheet.
  2. Brush the slices of bread generously with olive oil and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper; stir gently and let sit.
  4. Once the bread is toasted, remove from the oven and top each slice with the tomato mixture; drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve immediately.

Notes

Best served fresh. Store toppings separately from toasted bread to prevent sogginess.
