Ingredients
- French baguette or Italian bread
- Fresh tomatoes, diced
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Garlic, minced
- Olive oil
- Balsamic glaze
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices and lay flat on a baking sheet.
- Brush the slices of bread generously with olive oil and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper; stir gently and let sit.
- Once the bread is toasted, remove from the oven and top each slice with the tomato mixture; drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve immediately.
Notes
Best served fresh. Store toppings separately from toasted bread to prevent sogginess.
