A vibrant, fulfilling vegetarian stir fry that combines fragrant flavors and colorful vegetables, featuring crispy tofu and fresh basil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or mushroom sauce for a vegan option)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cube it.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the cubed tofu and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the sliced bell pepper and cook for another 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  6. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, lime juice, and sugar, and stir to combine.
  7. Fold in the fresh basil leaves and cook for an additional minute until they are wilted.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice for a complete meal.

Notes

For extra crispy tofu, let it dry out for 30 minutes before cooking. You can customize with your favorite veggies.
