- 14 oz firm tofu, cubed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or mushroom sauce for a vegan option)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cube it.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the cubed tofu and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the sliced bell pepper and cook for another 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, lime juice, and sugar, and stir to combine.
- Fold in the fresh basil leaves and cook for an additional minute until they are wilted.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with steamed rice for a complete meal.
Notes
For extra crispy tofu, let it dry out for 30 minutes before cooking. You can customize with your favorite veggies.
