Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into shapes.
- Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool completely before decorating with frosting and sprinkles.
Notes
For softer cookies, reduce baking time slightly. Adding lemon zest can provide a refreshing twist.
