Description

A luxurious dessert that combines rich chocolate flavors with a dazzling presentation, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate ganache (for topping)
  • Edible gold leaf (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, layer the cakes with chocolate ganache between them and cover with more ganache.
  8. Decorate with edible gold leaf for an elegant finish.
  9. Slice and serve at room temperature.

Notes

Serve with coffee or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
