Description

Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer featuring a creamy filling that is easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs into a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pan and remove from heat; let sit for 12 minutes.
  2. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water or run under cold water to cool quickly.
  3. Carefully peel the cooled eggs and slice each egg in half lengthwise, scooping out the yolks into a mixing bowl.
  4. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Fill the egg white halves with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  6. Sprinkle paprika over the filled eggs and garnish with chives or parsley if desired.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For perfect results, avoid overcooking the eggs to prevent green discoloration of the yolks. Feel free to customize with spices or herbs.
