Description
A delightful dish that combines tender steak, creamy sauce, and cheesy tortellini with robust flavors of garlic and smoked paprika.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Garlic powder to taste
- Smoked paprika to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions until al dente, about 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring to combine. Gradually add the parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and create the sauce. Season with additional salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes as desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the steak in garlic and herbs a few hours before cooking. Feel free to substitute the steak with grilled chicken or shrimp.
