Description

A delightful Cookies and Cream Cake featuring moist chocolate layers studded with crushed Oreo cookies and enveloped in creamy frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Oreo cookie pieces for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with buttermilk, folding in crushed Oreo cookies last.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, frost and garnish the cake with whipped cream and Oreo pieces.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Use a piece of wax paper to prevent frosting from sticking.
