- 8 slices of bread
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Pour this mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring each piece is saturated.
- Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to soak.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until set and lightly golden on top. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream for added decadence. Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
