Description
A delightful dessert that captures the essence of summer with warm, sweet peaches and a buttery topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Gently mix everything together and then set the bowl aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter evenly into a greased baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the top, ensuring that the peaches are evenly distributed. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Once done, remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve it warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use ripe fresh peaches for the best flavor. Adjust the sugar based on the ripeness of the peaches.
