- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Paprika and olive oil for garnish
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt.
- Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach the desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed to suit your palate.
- Transfer to a serving dish, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika. Serve with pita bread or vegetables.
Notes
For an ultra-smooth consistency, peel the chickpeas before blending. Roasted garlic can be used for a milder flavor.
