Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Stir until well blended.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grease lightly. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake and cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Ensure you use fresh baking powder and baking soda for the best rise. Don’t overmix the batter; some lumps are fine.
