Description
A delightful blend of fluffy focaccia and sweet cinnamon rolls, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup icing (powdered) sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- Gradually add the warm milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover it with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) while you roll out the dough.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread it with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle generously with ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Carefully roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into about 12 equal pieces.
- Place the slices in a greased baking dish, arranging them close together. Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake the focaccia for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix the icing sugar with the tablespoon of milk until smooth. Drizzle this over the cooled focaccia for a touch of sweetness.
