Description

A delightful treat that combines crunchy saltine crackers with rich, buttery toffee and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar for a sweet and salty snack.


Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until it comes to a boil. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until the toffee is bubbling.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them melt and spread evenly.
  6. Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then sprinkle it over the melted chocolate.
  7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into bite-sized pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Refrigerate for longer shelf life, but best enjoyed fresh.
