Description

These soft and chewy Christmas Sugar Cookie Bars bring the magic of traditional sugar cookies to life in an easy-to-make treat, topped with creamy vanilla frosting and colorful sprinkles.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Creamy vanilla frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes, then beat in the egg and stir in the vanilla and almond extract.
  4. Blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until just combined.
  5. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  8. Frost the bars with creamy vanilla frosting after cooling.
  9. Sprinkle with colorful decorations or sprinkles.
  10. Cut into bars and serve.
