- 2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt until fully combined.
- Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients while whisking constantly until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and continue stirring until the pudding thickens and just starts to bubble (about 5-10 minutes).
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and butter until creamy. Pour into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Serve chilled and consider topping with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
