  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla and peppermint extracts. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the baking sheet, making an indentation in the center of each ball.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Fill each thumbprint with melted chocolate after cookies cool.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
