Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cherry preserves
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)

- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on prepared baking sheets. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation and fill with cherry preserves.
