Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls, place on the baking sheet, and create a thumbprint indent in each. Fill with caramel sauce.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool on the baking sheet, optionally drizzle melted chocolate before serving.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Unbaked dough can be frozen for later use.
