- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
- Gradually mix in the flour and cocoa powder until fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
For a nuttier flavor, consider adding walnuts or pecans. For a spicy twist, add a teaspoon of cinnamon.
