Flavorful and Satisfying Chicken Shawarma Wraps

Description

Chicken shawarma wraps combine tender, spiced chicken with fresh vegetables and creamy sauce, all wrapped in soft pita, making them perfect for a quick lunch or a satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large pita or wrap breads
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tahini sauce or garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the sliced chicken to the marinade and coat well. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
  4. Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice into strips.
  5. To assemble the wraps, place shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sliced cucumber, and chicken strips on the pita or wrap bread. Drizzle with tahini or garlic sauce, then wrap it up tightly and serve immediately.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for the best flavor. Feel free to vary the spices and add other fresh vegetables.
