- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if you’re using it.
- Beat the egg until blended. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg and coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Sear the chicken in olive oil for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, pour marinara sauce on top, sprinkle with mozzarella, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Notes
Serve hot with spaghetti or salad. Can store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
