Description

A classic Italian-American dish featuring tender chicken breasts coated in crispy breadcrumbs, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if you’re using it.
  2. Beat the egg until blended. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg and coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Sear the chicken in olive oil for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, pour marinara sauce on top, sprinkle with mozzarella, and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Notes

Serve hot with spaghetti or salad. Can store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
