- 1 pie crust
- 2 pounds fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust to fit a rectangular baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries with sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt. Stir until well-coated.
- Spread the cherry mixture over the prepared crust, then mix the sour cream with a little extra sugar and spread it over the cherry layer. Brush the crust with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
