Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dried cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and dried cherries gently.
  7. Drop tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Best served warm with a glass of milk or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
