Description
A comforting classic combining savory ground beef with gooey melted cheese and a tangy sauce, all served on soft hamburger buns.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup sloppy joe sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with a splash of cooking oil. Dice the onion and green bell pepper while the pan warms up.
- Add the diced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender.
- Introduce the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, draining excess fat.
- Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and let the mixture simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the beef mixture, stirring until melted.
- Spoon the cheesy mixture onto toasted hamburger buns and enjoy immediately.
Notes
Serve with crispy fries or a fresh garden salad. Customize with pickles or extra cheese as desired.
