Description

A creamy and flavorful appetizer featuring sweet caramelized onions, perfect for dipping with chips, veggies, or crackers.


Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-30 minutes until caramelized and golden brown.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Once the onions have cooled slightly, fold them into the cream mixture.
  4. Serve the dip chilled or at room temperature, garnished with fresh chives if desired.

Notes

This dip can be made ahead of time and will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 5 days. Adjust seasoning to taste.
